As part of 'Experience Prototyping', bodystorming has been developed as a method of enquiry for interactive design. Research the definition of 'bodystorming', and write three paragraphs describing its characteristics.(3 paragraphs)

Bodystorming is a creative method or technique to better understand a product, sorts of a prototype which is done within the context of the model. The whole idea of bodystorming is to get a certain plan or an innovation tested as it would be used when it is in their actual environment. This technique is very beneficial to the innovators as it helps them understand the product better, helps them figure out the success of their innovation and comprehend the target market better. It also gives them the idea of any weakness that the product may have. That would help them rectify their design and better their product. Bodystorming generally increases the quality and helps achieve a better efficiency for their methods.

Bodystorming is different than brainstorming. In brainstorming you would normally have your ideas on paper, where you would reflect on them and discuss them. Whereas in bodystorming you are actually testing out these ideas. Visualization is an important aspect of bodystorming because it helps understand what market you would be catering to and help achieve that level of optimality.

The whole bodystorming process can be broken down into many steps. The first step is to go out and test the market. It is extremely important to be observant of the environment you are trying to cater for so that the design is viable for them. The next step is to design the idea or product and test it out in the scenario, this is bodystorming. This step will let the designers know if their ideas are heading in the right direction or not. The last step is the step of reflection. Once those steps are done, they will look at the whole process and find out their pros and cons and figure out if the initial idea is worthy of the market or not.
